From September 12, DSi would cost $150 and DSi XL would cost $170
Nintendo has announced that it will slash the prices of its hand held console models - DSi and DSi XL by the mid of this month. The game console developer will slash $20 on each console. After September 12, Nintendo will sell DSi for $150 (Rs. 7,060 approx.) and DSi XL for $170 (Rs. 8,000 approx.). However, there won't be any price change for Nintendo DSi Lite model.
Call it a wise step or a precaution against the rapidly rising popularity of Apple's iOS platform for casual gaming, Nintendo surely has started taking actions. At this moment, Nintendo DSi is sold for $170 (Rs. 8,000 approx.) while DSi is sold for $190 (Rs. 8,950 approx.).
With more than 1,300 packaged games and above 200 downloadable games, DSi and DSi XL both different screen models remain top choice for casual gaming. Let's hope this price cut will push Sony to slash the price of PSPgo.
As of now, we don't have information on when and whether these price cuts would be applicable in India as well.
