Nokia to Install Push email Server in India by Nov

Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia announced that it will install a new server and infrastructure in India for messaging and push e-mail services. This step was taken to abide by the Union Government's current stance to help the Indian law enforcement agencies to monitor email and messenger services provided through Nokia. D Shivakumar, vice president for Nokia India, said, "Our server for the messenger services will be active in the country by November 5."
While the RIM-Indian government squabble over encrypted data services continues, Nokia has taken a wise step to co-operate and abide by Indian security needs. The government of India has asked BlackBerry services provider RIM to allow Indian securities agencies to access the encrypted email and messaging data information. RIM stated that it had no special tool or back door access codes for providing entry to its encrypted data servers. The argument is still on and we hope they find a solution soon.
Now this whole controversy has aided Nokia to stay ready and safe well before hand. According to Kumar said, "We had met home ministry officials about a month ago. Our services are safe."
In last April, Nokia launched the E75 and made messaging services for free in India. Ever since then, the company has let users register and make use of this service in India. Now, Nokia has showed readiness for assisting the government authorities and will start the process of installing infrastructure for proper monitoring encrypted push email as well as messaging services.
