Medical Encyclopedia is a really useful free app for medical practitioners and non-practitioners alike. It is in fact, a comprehensive medical reference book from the University of Maryland Medical Center. With over 50,000 pages of detailed consumer friendly medical information in English and Spanish, this is a real treasure trove. The medically reviewed information is divided into different, easy to search categories.
The categories include symptoms, injury, disease, surgery, nutrition, special topics, poison, tests and YouTube videos. Updated regularly, the content is updated whenever you connect to the internet. There is an Ask the Expert feature, which lets you ask questions to more than 70 different UMMC doctors on a variety of medical topics. If you like a certain topic and would like to return to it later, then you can bookmark it.
