Creative Inspire M2600
The
Creative Inspire M2600 is priced at Rs. 1,999. It is powered by a 29W
RMS amplifier, with 17W going to the subwoofer and 6W each to the
satellite speakers. The satellite speakers are fairly attractive with a
tall design and silver rim around the speakers. The speakers are even
wall mountable. The subwoofer unit has a side facing driver and a bass
reflex port at the front. The subwoofer volume control is placed at the
back.
The
speakers come with a wired remote controller, which can also switch off
the speakers. Unfortunately the Inspire M2600 don't have an auxiliary
input or headphone out. One annoyance of the design was the external
power supply unit. It's not particularly huge, but it could have easily
been incorporated inside the subwoofer.
Speaking about
performance, the M2600 fared much better than the T3130. The subwoofer
here is quite powerful, a bit too powerful at times. The volume control
on the sub has to be used carefully or it is easy to flood your music
with excessive bass. Even when kept at the 50% level the bass was bit
overwhelming and boomy. When kept at an appropriate level, the bass can
be tight and punchy and full bodied.
The satellite speakers don't
impress that much though. The mid-range is good, with clean and smooth
vocals. However, the treble is bit low, which will make most people
reach for the equalizer to boost the top end. The dull top end does not
go well with low bit-rate compressed music, which sounds even more dull.
Uncompressed files sound pretty clear though with only a hint of
muddiness in the top end.
In movies and gaming the Inspire M2600
performed very well with the solid bass and good mid-range elevating the
overall experience. Overall I would say the Creative Inspire M2600 are
pretty decent speakers, but more suited for movies and gaming than
music.
