Depicted Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as a part of Pakistan
Looks like August isn't a particularly good month for Google India. It was exactly a year ago - in August 2009 that Google's popular maps service Google Maps was mired in controversy regarding the depiction of Arunachal Pradesh being a part of China.
Back then, Google had admitted that it goofed up and had the maps rectified. A year on, Google's Insights For Search tool has depicted Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK) as being a part of Pakistan - when in all actuality, it is still a disputed area.
When bought to attention of Google officials, they have confirmed that necessary steps would be taken and the relevant product group would be intimated for further action, reports the Times of India. Back in 2005, Google Earth was shown depicting PoK as a part of Pakistan and had lead to a similar controversy.
give the whole of Kashmir to Pakistan, I say. That way, India can focus on advancing their citizens and Pakistan will make sure they mess-up and destroy the whole of Kashmir in no time as it is a custom for them only to know how to destroy, never to build; isn't that history?
Azad kashmir and (indian) occupied kashmir is one state and should be shown as such in all maps. Showing it as part of one or the other country will not change ground realities.
Kashmir is a dispute territory, doesn't belong to India and Pakistan. Check all the Western maps, you Indian will be surprised that Kashmir is shown as a disputed territory and not your land. Check Google Earth. Don't befool yourself Mr. Indian. There are UN resolution, UNO map, which distinctly shows Kashmir as dispute territory. Google should not show any Part of Kashmir with India, that is legally and morally wrong action of google.
