Features

The HP LaserJet Pro M1136 MFP is rather compact for a laser printer of considerably heavy duty cycle. HP has designed it differently from its earlier range. So this printer has a boxy-looking black polymer body with a little bit of grey here and there. This gives it a serious look with a touch of style and elegance. The build of the body is quite rugged and there is no tackiness anywhere. It can easily withstand the rigors of office environment. The device is understandably heavy at 7 kg, so you would not want to move it around too much. A large power button is present on the bottom left of the printer for convenient access.

Installing the toner cartridge is pretty easy; just open the cartridge bay and slide the cartridge into place. The instruction manual clearly mentions how to do this.

The input tray is present at the bottom, and it can be adjusted to accept different paper sizes. Its capacity is 150 sheets, which is adequate for SOHO or SMBs. Paper is placed with the side to be printed facing up.

How To Change Roller of this printer

I recently (Nov 10th, 2011) bought the HP MFP 1136 Printer. It cost me around 9.8 k, the printer seems fine but the Read Iris pro software so provided is a trial version. Which means you cannot select the or edit the scan areas on a particular document. Also the printer takes a lot of time if you change the mode of certain operations like rotating a document, saving it in some other format like PDF, Word. Saving the document as a JPEG is missing. Unlike my previous very affordable HP PSC 1315 and all its drivers are available on HP's website, this one seems a bit fussy about certain tasks. I wonder why the company has adopted to such cheap marketing gimmick? The full version of Readiris basic software is around 120 Dollars (approx). Hope to find a better freebie online for the printer.

Hi Prakash! I would suggest that you get a Samsung ML-1666 or HP LaserJet P1008 as both of these come under Rs.5500 and they are great value for money laser printers. Laser printed output is always dry because unlike an inkjet where liquid ink is used, a laser printer uses dry carbon powder to create the imprint on paper.

Only the Samsung ML-1666 comes for Rs.5,499, while the HP P1007 for Rs.8299.

Dear Jayesh, How do you test the power consumption for the products you review at Techtree.

Hi John, the power consumption is tested using a Kill-A-Watt meter as is standard on international review websites. However, we did not test the power consumption of this MFD and instead have mentioned the rated power consumption because the power consumption was found to be too fluctuating to measure
