Motorola adds more Android power to its lineup in India
Motorola has announced the launch of two brand new Android based phones in India. The devices in question are the Motorola Milestone XT720 and the Blackflip. We had earlier reported about Motorola's intentions to launch the XT720 here by the first week of August.
The XT720 boasts of an 8 megapixel camera and support for HD video recording. The XT720 is also touted to be the world's slimmest 8 megapixel phone with Xenon flash. It measures 10.9mm thick and has a capacitive 3.7-inch touchscreen display with a WVGA (480X854) resolution. The phone comes loaded with Android 2.1. The 8 megapixel camera supports features like Smart Image Capture, includes easy panorama, face detection, multi-shot (six shots in a row), face filter, red eye reduction and camera shake prevention. It also comes with an HDMI cable (in the box) that allows HD video captured on the phone to be viewed directly on an HD TV. The phone comes with an 8GB microSD card and supports cards of upto 32GB display.
As for the Backflip, as you might be aware, it features a reverse-flip design and comes with a friction hinge that allows the QWERTY keyboard to flip underneath for working in tabletop mode. It features a 3.1-inch (7.8 cm) HVGA screen and also has the Backtrack feature which is a touch panel located on the other side of the device. The Backflip has a 5 megapixel camera and auto-focus LED flash. Other features include a GPS, stereo Bluetooth, MPEG 4 capability, 3.5 mm (0.35 cm) headset audio jack and expandable memory of up to 32GB.
As for the pricing, Motorola has priced the Milestone XT720 at a princely Rs. 34,990 while the Backflip will set you back by Rs. 22,990. Considering the Samsung Galaxy S is available for much lesser, do you think its worth paying almost Rs. 7,000 extra for that better camera and Xenon flash? You decide!
we can pay upto 17 or 18000 due to features like high definition video & direct hd video transfer to high definition tv or monitor but it is xcess when it is 32000 coz now a days we r gets a high configuration laptops with this cost
I have just bought Motorola milestone in 24700 + taxes.
I would suggest you all to wait for Android 2.2 based phone or until Android 2.2 update is available for Motorola milestone.
Android 2.2 is about 5 time faster than Android 2.1 and have some features which are not present in Android 2.1. Currently milestone is running on Android 2.1 and I have heard the rumors that milestone may not be updated to Android 2.2. And the bad news is you can not update manually cuz the phone only accept updates digitally signed by Motorola.
So If you buy a milestone now it may be dead after one year.
I do not know about Samsung Glaxy S.
Buy only Android 2.2 OS phones.
I own a Galaxy S..and trust me..this thing aint no match for the sheer power and awesomeness of Galaxy S..have u seen the screen of I9000...omg!!!!!...its the best thing ive seen on a cellphone..period...and the power...no comments...have had it for over a month now..got over 30 apps installed..and i totally love itt!!!!!!!!.....Galaxy S rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hard to call this a better camera than the galaxy s , if you've seen samples you'll know mega pixels don't matter, the galaxy s/ wave completely dominate over higher specked cameras, even the sony xperia can't match them, Techtree needs to do a shootout ASAP to clear this mis-conception.
if you want the best camera phone get a Wave , if you don't care about flash get a Galaxy s.BTW galaxy s has a night mode thats very impressive almost as good as a flash.
i wud rather buy 5-6k more and get the greatest phone on the earth-the iphone 4(evo if released here wud be my top choice but tragically its cdma) dan spend 35k on a phone like this
Pranav, what a brainless git you are. You call an iPhone the greatest phone on earth? You deserve that shitty phone then. The XT720 does everything, and does it better than the iPhone 4
