Design and Build
The TV looks good with its full black piano gloss finish for the entire bezel and stand. There's a standby light in the front and touch sensitive buttons on the side. A power button is placed underneath the bezel, so you can completely power off the TV without hitting the mains.
The buttons are touch sensitive and has a red backlight. The sensitivity is good and the buttons are responsive to even the slightest touch.
The ports are laid out in a similar fashion like on Samsung TVs and are easily accessible. We have a total of four HDMI ports, two USB 2.0 ports, VGA and audio-in jacks, Coaxial audio, SCART- which can double up as the second Composite port using the adapter. On the side we have a headphone jack, Composite and a Component jack. It's nice to see four HDMI ports on a 40-incher, especially now that we have HD Set-Top boxes in the market, you'll still have three left for your BluRay player, game console and a free one for connecting a handycam or something.
The stand provides adequate support for the TV and it does not wobble much. It does swivel from side to side.
The screen has a full matt finish but there is no protection for the panel as its left completely exposed. Even a slight touch or knock against it causes major distortions, so we advice you to be careful, especially if you have inquisitive kids at home.
