We haven't reviewed a lot of laptop accessories in the past but now that notebooks come in all shapes, sizes and prices, they are more affordable than ever. Naturally this gives accessory manufacturers incentive to come up with newer cooling pads and speakers specifically designed for your precious. Cooling pads are aplenty in the market and are available for Rs.800 upwards. Today we have something quite interesting from Logitech that will take care of your laptop heating issue as well as play sweet music for your ears.

They call it the N700 Lapdesk and it essentially is a cooling pad with speakers all packed into a very comfy looking package, so you can use this on your lap as well. Traditional cooling pads are designed to be placed on a desk as the under surface isn't really 'thigh friendly'. While it is fine when you are at home, but if you would want to use your laptop from the comfort of your couch or bed, this is where the N700 comes in. It's designed to offer better-than-laptop sound as well as some cooling for your laptop while you are using your laptop comfortably on your lap for an extended period of time.

Design

The N700 is well packed and is the only thing in the box. There is a small cut out on one end, so you can see the product before you buy it.

The Lapdesk is wide enough to accommodate notebooks up to 16 inches. There are two flaps in the front that open to ensure the notebook does not slide. In the center it has vents for the fan located underneath. The sides feature a speaker grill that stretches all the way down but the actual speaker is only on the top. The speakers are 2" Neodymium drivers with a maximum power of 2W.

There are three buttons on the side to control the volume, and a fan On/Off switch.

The entire base is covered with a very comfy air-mesh fabric made of polyester and polyurethane. The fan manages to move 6CFM of air at 31db. The base is angled so it raises the laptop at a 30 degree angle making it easier to type.
