Next generation iPad and iPod touch with front facing cameras will sport FaceTime feature
All iPhone users who have been waiting for front facing cameras were delighted to see the feature FaceTime in new iPhone 4. As per BoyGeniusReport's reliable Apple connection, the company will bring the FaceTime feature to iPad and iPod touch as well. Wait, none of the current generation iPad or iPod touch are capable to run FaceTime. So it's obvious that we will see front facing camera loaded iPad and iPod touch devices.
Apparently, these details came from the iOS 4.1 beta build pushed to iOS platform developers. With FaceTime, users can make calls from their iPhone 4. However, this features works for devices that have a number and will get you wondering how it will work on the iPad and iPod touch. Basically, users would be required to register themselves and get an Apple ID. In short, email address based FaceTime calling would be activated.
Also, you'll get to know about incoming FaceTime request by Push notification. But there's no clarity on which method Apple might employ for sending FaceTime request from iPod touch to an iPhone 4 device. For iPad, the front facing camera would certainly need to be a better one to deliver good quality image on the 9.7-inch display. Or will Apple introduce 5.6-inch and 7-inch OLED display bearing iPads with FaceTime feature?
We anticipate the new iPod touch device with camera on the back side and a front facing camera for FaceTime feature. Of course we've been screeching literally to give a built-in mic in the iPod touch so that we could use Voice Memos.
Possibilities are many but we'll have to wait till we have an official update on the same.
