HTC Droid Incredible Privacy Concerns Emerge

HTC's Droid Incredible might be a great phone all right, but there seems to be a rather alarming privacy bug on the handset that has come to light recently.

Apparently, the phone takes snapshots of the websites you visit using the phones' browser in the form of jpeg screenshots. These images, which detail your browsing habits, do not spare even secure websites that might contain confidential data (say, your measly bank balance).

The worse thing about this bug is that these screenshots remain in the phone even after you perform a hard reset. Now, imagine a scenario where you have sold off your phone and the buyer gets to see all these things in gory details? Since these files are not deleted even after a hard reset, is there no way out of this privacy quagmire? You might ask. Well, there is.

The solution is rather low tech and obvious. All you need to do is to go to the folder where these images are stored and delete them manually. We hope HTC fixes this issue in its next firmware update for the Incredible!

The question is why are those images taken in the first place? this is hardly a bug. U don't need images to store favorite webpages either...
