PlayStation Move: Sony's new jive

Yes, we've already heard and read about PlayStation Move, Sony's motion sensing controller for PlayStation 3 gaming console. Sony had unveiled this motion gaming controller at the Game Developers Conference 2010 earlier in March this year. It's like Nintendo Wii's Nunchuck+Wiimote for PlayStation 3 gaming console. However, technologically PlayStation Move is different.

Sony has equipped Move motion controller with two high-precision sensors, three axis accelerometer and three axis gyroscope. Hey, doesn't that three axis gyroscope sound familiar? Yes, the new iPhone 4 comes with a three axis gyroscope in it. Do note that the PlayStation Move controller pack comes with two controller sticks. The one with the sphere is the main controller and another one without a sphere is the sub-controller. At the most up to four PlayStation Move controllers can connect to the PlayStation 3 Slim gaming console or pair of two sphere bearing controllers with two sub-controllers.

At E3 2010, Sony announced that the full PlayStation Move Champions bundle would be available for $99 (Rs. 4600 approx.) that would include PlayStation Eye, Move controller and a game. One could also go for Move controller separately for $49 (Rs. 2300 approx.) and navigation or sub-controller for $29 (Rs. 1400 approx.). To attract kids and amuse teens, Sony has also released a gun-like attachment for the move controller.

PS3 is turning out to be an expensive proposition in comarison with the Xbox.. what the hell is Sony playing at.. each title costs above 2000 bucks.. I don't think its apossible to shell out so much for a game.. what do you do with it once u've finished the game.. and I hope that the 3D controllers are intuitive..

Hi guys i just dont understand that y didnt they cut the price ps3 as xbox did it..this is just a shame..i mean i know they did it last year but cmon guys this is 2010 and still its out of budget for so many indian customers...i would love to see a ps3 for 15 thousand(including taxes..indian govt sucks..they really need to revise their policies) with two free game dvds...that will be the day when sony will finally have a place in all indian homes..believe me!!

I'd prefer the Rs. 20,000 pricing, if they were willing to get those damn game prices down from Rs. 2,500 to roughly Rs. 800 - Rs.1000 on an average.
