Apple has put up an official statement that saying that about 600,000 pre-orders of iPhone 4 were recorded on day one. U.S.-based mobile service provider AT&T and Apple both were accepting pre-orders for iPhone 4. It is needless to say that the love for Apple products among the masses hasn't subsided as yet.

Several eager customers had to face downtime at Apple website or with the ordering system at AT&T Stores, highlighting the heavy traffic. "We apologize to everyone who encountered difficulties, and hope that they will try again or visit an Apple or carrier store once the iPhone 4 is in stock." - stated the official Apple statement. As the company always mentions, higher than anticipated number of pre-orders were recorded.

Mark Siegel, an AT&T spokesman, told The New York Times, "The availability of additional inventory will determine if we can resume taking pre-orders." Let's hope that pre-orders start soon again and the stock of iPhone 4 flows smoothly. Apple fanboys and loyalists outside U.S. need to keep praying for no delays in the availability of iPhone 4.
