    HTC Evo 4G Breaks Sprint Day 1 Sales Records

    Breaks first day sale of the Samsung Instinct

While the world was gearing up for the announcement of the iPhone 4, U.S. based network provider Sprint revealed some facts that might not be joyous for Apple fan boys out there. Sprint revealed that first day sales of HTC's latest Android smartphone, the HTC Evo 4G, have broken the records set by the first day sale of the Samsung Instinct, the previous best record holder.

The Evo 4G, which happens to be HTC's flagship Android handset, is the world's first 4G phone - able to work on WiMax networks. Of course, it is 3G capable as well. It is a feature packed phone complete with a 4.3-inch LCD screen, HDMI port, an 8-megapixel camera and Android 2.1.

Coming back to the sales figures, Sprint hasn't exactly revealed the sales in numbers but did add that it was more than three times the number of Samsung Instincts or Palm Pres sold on their respective first days.

Will the iPhone 4 sale figures topple that of the HTC Evo 4G? We have an inkling it would. Let's wait and watch.

i LOVE the iPhone4. Unfortunately for apple, i LOVE LOVE LOVE the EVO even MORE. I'm "thinking different". I've...............SWITCHED..........to Android. My 3GS seems so old now compared to the EVO. The iPhone4 is lackluster in my opinion. Apple really didn't do anything special with it. That so-called amazing screen with it's large resolution means nothing to me. The EVO's giant screen is AMAZING. The phone fits in my pockets JUST FINE and unlike everyone's bogus and bs claims about battery life, my EVO's is BETTER than my 3GS AND I have the option to install a ridiculously huge battery. My name is a Richard and I'm a new Android enthusiast!

I bought one on Friday evening for me. Last one Sprint had in the store that they had not reserved for weekend sales... The girlfriend loved it so much I had to go back Saturday to get one of what was left. My girlfriend is tech-impaired and she's got it all figured out already. Goodbye Apple.

and take into consideration most sales were pre order only. Most stores were sold out unless you pre ordered.

I've had the iphone and seriously was never all that impressed with it, personally I think android is a better os and the interface and apps on it work for what I need to do with it. I've been info these devices since back in the windows mobile days so I am not as gullible as the iphone and i everything crowd. You have to give it to Apple - they know how to lead sheep, but unless they expand to other devices I think Android becomes the Standard phone OS.

i can't afford to get the new evo yet but my friend got one and all i can say is i will get one soon .this phone surpass the iphone in many ways so finally we see something better or equal to the iphone but without all the restrictions of apple enforce on you plus the data plan now with attt sucks .i know some may say that sprint is not that good as a company but because one reason or the other i had sprint before and all i can tell you that they are all the same ,they work in one place but not in the other ,they all have drop calls and they all kill you some how with their customer service some time when you call them so get the evo you will love it

The iPhone is expensive for nothing. The evo 4g does everything that the iPhone 4 does plus more. The only real thing that Apple has is more apps, which it won't be long before android catch's up. Ad far as I'm concerned the iPhone is just a status phone. To say I have an iPhone look everyone.

Do you really have to ask if iPhone4 sales will top the Evo 4Gs? I hear a lot about Android but I never see anything that makes me take notice or say "Wow I gotta have one!". Apple is great at enticing me to buy something I don't really need.

That is because of your intellectual capacity. Android doesn't need a gimmick to sell. Because it is useful not useless like you yourself said the iPhone is. With the advance in human intelligence Apple's market (that is to say the gimmick crowd, or morons like i like to call them) will die out sooner or later.
