After the Pakistan's Facebook Block incident, Bangladesh too had blocked Facebook for apparently similar reasons - satirical images of political leaders with Prophet Mohammed. Today, however, Bangladesh announced that it will restore Facebook access since the website authorities have agreed to remove "sacrilegious" images of Prophet Mohammed from the website.

Facebook hosted a group's 'Everybody Draw Muhammad Day' contest page resulting in Bangladesh as well as Pakistan blocking the website on the grounds of "obnoxious" content. Majority of Islam religion followers opposed the website's 'blasphemous' content and said that Facebook hurt their religious sentiments. However, in Bangladesh, Mahbub Alam Rodin, an unemployed Bangladeshi citizen, had uploaded satirical images of political leaders along with Prophet Mohammed.

Now since Facebook has agreed to remove those images, Bangladesh has decided to restore Facebook access in the country, reported BBC news.
