With the IT world going green and easy on the environment, motherboard manufacturer ECS has demoed its new Deep Green technology which reduces energy consumption in motherboards supporting this new technology, to an astounding new low of just 0.001 Watt in soft off (S5) mode. This is 500 times lower than the current EUP standard, and is 250 times lower than the EUP standard for 2013. The motherboards supporting Deep Green achieve such low power consumption by shutting off all parts of current except the 5V standby. The result is a reduction in the emission of Greenhouse gases for a better ecology.
The formula used to calculate the power consumption is P (Watts)= I (Amp) x V (Volt).
Thus, power consumed in the above case, where the current can be seen as 0.139 mA, is (0.139/1000) A x 5 V = 0.000695 W, which is even lesser than the specified amount. The Deep Green power feature will be available in all future motherboards from ECS.
