Very good performance but too expensive

Good performance, on/off charging, good cooling, 4-way CrossFire ready, clean layout, extensive overclocking options in BIOS

Expensive, CPU temperatures weren't being reported in windows, Silent Pipe 2 cooler can't be installed with certain GPUs

Design and Layout

The blue and white colors used by Gigabyte are quite pleasing to the eye and a good layout for all the ports as well. Everything is color coded and labeled, so it's very easy to make your way around installing various components.

The rear panel connectors include a total of 8 USB 2.0 ports; two of those are ESATA combo ports. Next we have combo PS2 port that will support a keyboard or mouse. For audio out we have Coaxial S/PDIF connector and Optical S/PDIF connector. There are two IEEE 1394a connectors for those interested. Dual LAN ports are also present that support smart switching and teaming modes. Finally we have Realtek ALC889 audio chipset powering the 7.1 channel audio.

There's ample place around the CPU area for larger coolers. The 8+2 phase power regulators placed around the CPU area are cooled by an aluminum heat sink which is part of their Hybrid Silent-Pipe 2 design.

The four RAM slots support up to 16GB of memory up to 1866MHz (O.C) DDR3 memory.

I think the cheapest DDR3, SATA 3, and USB 3 combo motherboard with the 8 series chipset is around 5.5K (ASROCK) in the Indian markets. With a good mid-range graphics card (5 series ATI) it should make for a good all-round gaming machine.
