Program extended to replace potentially explosive batteri
Hewlett Packard has extended the potentially faulty laptop battery recall program that was started last year on May 14. These faulty batteries are believed to have a potential of overheating and can burn or cause fire on the notebook. HP laptop sold between 2007 and 2008 worldwide from HP website and HP shopping were said to be eligible for battery replacement program.
Last year, the battery replacement program was launched to recall about 70,000 laptop batteries. In the new extended program, notebook models costing anything between $500 and $3,000 are eligible. Only certain notebook models are eligible under these programs that include HP Pavilion, Compaq Presario, HP and HP Compaq brands.
HP has added additional notebook models eligible under the program which were not included last year. If you want to check if your HP laptop falls under the program, the product number is located at the bottom of the laptop.
