Quad-core Intel Core series CPU bearing premium HP Envy notebooks have more graphics power
Hewlett Packard has finally unveiled two new laptops that will join the existing Envy lineup - Envy 14 and Envy 17. These are the same laptops that were spotted back in December 2009. The two new HP Envy 14 and Envy 17 join the existing Envy 13 and Envy 15 notebooks. Resembling Apple's MacBook Pro, the new Envy 14 would be made available in U.S. on June 17 while the Envy 17 would be made available on May 19.
New HP Envy 14 and Envy 17 are similar to the existing Envy 13 and 15 laptops. Magnesium-aluminum alloy made chassis and back-lighting keyboard are the two features that make these notebooks stand out from other HP offerings. The new Envy 14 and 17 are equipped with quad-core Intel processors (Intel Core i3, i5 or i7) and have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5830 discrete graphics onboard. Thus, gaming, HD video and 3D imaging have been taken care of.
Envy 14 has a 14.5-inch diagonal HD Radiance display offering up to 59 percent more brightness than an average notebook with standard display. HP also offers WWAN/3G for Internet connectivity and the notebook offers six hours of battery life.
Envy 17 comes with up to 2TB HDD storage capacity, optimized performance with ATI's multi-monitor Eyefinity technology and HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer for amazing sound.
Both notebooks come with Beats Audio, high-performance technology developed by HP and Beats by Dre for optimal audio experience while playing music through headphones or external speakers. Apart from that, both new Envy models come with HP TrueVision HD webcam, slot-loading optical drive, mini DisplayPort connector, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. Detailed specifications haven't been shared by HP as yet.
HP has priced Envy 14 at $1,000 (Rs. 44,919 approx.) while the Envy 17 has been priced at $1,400 (Rs. 62,882 approx.). As of now, there's no information on when these notebooks would be made available in India.
