Looks like Nokia has gone on a phone announcement spree of late. Just days after the N8 was officially unveiled, Nokia has revealed its latest addition to the X-Series range of handsets.
The X-Series which, until now, comprised of the X3, the China specific X5 and the high-end X6, received a new sibling in the form of the X2. The X2, as evident from the naming scheme, will be positioned below the X3 and is a mid-range handset. Let's see what it has to offer you.
The X2 features a 2.2 inch QVGA display, dedicated music keys, dual speakers, Bluetooth 2.1, 3.5mm headset jack, FM radio, Nokia Messaging, Facebook integration and MicroSD card support. The phone, unlike other X-Series handsets, runs Nokia's proprietary S40 OS. On the imaging front, it has a very impressive 5 megapixel camera at the rear. This is a rather surprising because the X3, which is positioned above the X2, has a 3.2 megapixel camera.
The X2 is slated to be launched in June, first in India. The price is expected to hover at around the $112 (Rs. 5,000) mark. That seems to be a decent price for a handset of its caliber. Also, this might just be the cheapest 5 megapixel phone you could buy these days.
this is a very good phone but the new memory cards has some problem like the hang while playing the video clips so except its new memory card the phone is amazing

This is few of the last (and in future "Lost" if not acted right away) for Nokia. Nokia will leave no effort to recapture the low cost mobile market in India. People tend to buy other chinese cheap brands but when it comes to value, anyone is ready to pay that little more at least 20 % of the low cost mobile phone market is willing to, so kudos Nokia.. Don't leave this chance or say opportunity.. :)

LETS C........th reslts....!!!
hi guys
i read comments and look on website .. camera is 5mp but dont have good lense it doesnt say anything abt lense other things it comes with series 40 while other expensive phone running on symbian that is much better and stable. Looks its ok. But screen size is too small and screen doesnt have scratch resistance that you really need in india..Finally its not made that much strong to handle looks like light weight plastic.
A 5MP camera at Rs.5000 is unreal! That is a dead serious step from the beleaguered Nokia to claim its mid end markets from the Micromaxes of the world. Is it a good move or a deperate one?
However the question that begs to be asked is: Isnt Nokia burning of its margins a little more hastily than it really should. Possibly Volumes is a good story… but with the services engines of Nokia not firing, burning out handset margins could be counter-productive for Nokia.
I don't think that Nokia can beat itself at this price.. Look around there is Nokia Supernova mobile phones & other mobile phones @ RS 5000..
SO if Nokia launches X2 @ RS 5000 no one will buy other Nokia phones at that price..
Its goona be hard for Nokia to take on Indian Companies like Micromax
This looks great and the price looks decent. and I am sure with Nokia brand, all the other features (including 5 mp camera) would also be running smooth.
Nokia has been maintaining quality standards since it's inception and hence adopting chinese or lebanese technology hardly matters.Hope these models also prove to be good performers.
I think this time Nokia have choosen cheap chinese technology to make re-entry in the market, instead of concentrating on quality they have opted for quantity. But nowadays Samsung and indian brands like Micromax, Maxx are making waves in the market.
Megapixel is not equal to quality... Its the sensor size that matters. You can cram as many pixels as you want and you ll have increase in noise levels Mobile phone sensors are very small and the sweet spot for a good quality image is 3 MP beyond 3 MP its nothing but marketing.
nokia know they need o bring something like th to be in market .. and if the bring this phone anything below 6k .. then it will sell like hot cake ..
lts keep finger crossed ...
