Amazon Kindle gets Twitter, Facebook Support

Amazon has announced new firmware 2.5 update for Kindle that will bring support for Facebook and Twitter. This firmware update will be available for both Kindle and Kindle DX owners. This update will be released for Kindle reader owners late May. Looks like Amazon is buckling up to battle against Apple's iPad tablet.
New Kindle Software Update 2.5 will bring a lot of new features including an interesting one - Collections. If your Kindle has several books or documents then you can always organize them in to one or several collections. While reading an eBook, you can share interesting passages to your friends and contacts on Twitter as well as Facebook. How? With the new firmware 2.5 firmware update, you'll be able to zoom and pan across the PDF document. Also, two new larger font sizes and are sharper for comfortable legibility.
