It was earlier thought that the first Samsung Bada OS based phone, the "Wave", would be seeing its launch sometime this very month. However, even as April draws to a close, Samsung hasn't announced any plans to bring the Wave to the masses.

In fact, there are fresh reports coming in which seem to point towards a delay in the launch of the Wave. What is surprising is the fact that the phone has already been reported as "available" in the UK. However, the phone hasn't started shipping as yet. It is even featured on the websites of popular retailers. As for the fresh reports, according to TechRadar, the launch of the S8500 Wave is now planned for June 2010 - a full two months from now! While the price of the handset is yet to be officially revealed, it is likely to be priced at around the $360 - $370 mark (Rs. 16,000 approx.) - unlocked and minus the subsidies.

As for the features, apart from being the first Samsung Bada OS based device, the phone comes with Samsung's own 1GHz processor and will be available in two avatars - a 2GB and an 8GB version. The phone is quite compact (for a touchscreen) and will be the first device to support Bluetooth 3.0 as well as to offer 802.11n Connectivity. The memory is expandable up to 32GB using microSD cards. Then, there is support for aGPS as well. At the rear of the phone is a 5 megapixel camera that, going by Samsung standards, should be able to capture excellent images. The video recording part is great as well. It can capture videos at 720p resolution.

As for the UI, there is Samsung's proprietary TouchWiz UI running atop Bada OS. However, the major difference is that this is the latest version of TouchWiz and it now supports instant access to Twitter and Facebook and a Smart Unlock option. The phone is believed to have more than 512MB of RAM which should make it really fast!
