Is giving away free map packs from previously paid package to make up for the outage horror
Assassin's Creed II for PC owners who suffered outage last month due to Ubisoft's new Digital Rights Management system will be compensated with free downloadable content. As per Assassin's Creed II game's official message boards, an apology email has been sent out to the gamers who experienced problems. The free DLC (downloadable content) comprises of maps available in the Black Edition of the game which obviously made the Black Edition owners unhappy. Why? Because they paid extra for those maps while the affected gamers will get it for free.
Ubisoft's newly introduced DRM systems requires the gamers to be online all time while playing the game and the saved portions of game rest on Ubisoft servers. Earlier this month, several AC II for PC owners were unable to play the game since Ubisoft servers were down for hours. Now, as per the game's official forum members, Ubisoft has sent out an apology mail saying:
"Following the recent temporary game server outages which may have caused disruption to some Assassin's Creed 2 players on PC only, we would like to reward your patience if you have experienced any problems by offering you some additional content - previously only available with special editions."
This means the gamers who were victim of server outage issue would be give free maps as DLC as compensation. These free maps are from Assassin's Creed II Black Edition that was introduced for a short while post the game's launch. It's still unclear whether Black Edition owners would be compensated with the same content or not.
Thats still crap & then just need to remove the DRM. If you internet burps, you are SOL. If their servers go down, you are SOL.
Vote with your wallet & quit buying their crap!
