Microsoft has this unique habit of developing applications for rival mobile operating systems. In the past, we had seen Microsoft launch an application for the iPhone - called the SeaDragon. Now, its time for Microsoft to set its eyes on the Android platform - albeit as a developer and not a competitor.
Microsoft has released an application called "Tag" designed to work with Android devices. The software is basically a mobile barcode reader that uses the camera on an Android phone to decipher bar codes. This Tag application is already available for other platforms - including Windows Mobile, the iPhone, BlackBerry and Symbian handsets. Tag can also be used to link people to websites, pass on information or give visitors a discount in an online store.
The Tag application arrived on the iPhone back in 2009. This was partly because of the fact the he Apple App Store is, by far, the largest applications store out there with over three billion downloads completed so far.
If you happen to be an Android user, why not download and try this one?
