Players get to play an Ops Commander in this military game

Sony has officially announced military action game SOCOM 4 exclusively for PlayStation 3 and said it will be released this fall - between September and November. Developed by Zipper Interactive, this is yet another SOCOM installment in which the player is an Ops Commander and is supposed to lead a five-soldier team. The game is still under development and will feature single player as well as online multi-player options. We came across a few screenshots of this game and we have to say that they look gorgeous.

This game will be set in a South East Asian country where a revolution causes disturbance. The Ops Commander and his team have to go through jungles and urban environments and face a swarm of well-armed rebels.

In a blog post, Jeffery Durham, Zipper Interactive's senior community manager, mentioned that 256-player accommodating MAG support would continue even after SOCOM 4 will be launched.
