The number of HD Media Players in the market seems to be increasing as more manufacturers are realizing the potential of this new kind of device. The day is not far when media players will cause CDs and DVD players to cease. There is still a debate if it's better to have a DVD player with USB support over a media player. The argument hasn't ended as yet since it is always possible to see DVD Players with USB support portable drives and sport similar format support like that of the HD Media Players. Nonetheless, currently, an HD Media Player is a good choice to opt for. Here, we list three HD Media Players which are the best in the markets today and will help you take that buying decision.

Asus O! Play Air (Best Value)

The Asus O! Play Air sells for Rs. 9,000 with a three-year warranty. With a three-year warranty, the O! Play Air is something that one can really opt for. This HD Media Player has everything one can ask for except for the component output which, according to us, is not really something to crib about. On the brighter side, this media player offers lots of features like e-SATA support, memory card reader and an in-built Wi-Fi is like an icing on the cake. The player is good overall with its format support up to the mark and with this kind of pricing, it takes the Best Value deal in the field of HD Media Players today.

Read our review of the Asus O! Play Air here.

Honestly I was disappointed with this article...I was very happy to see the "Whats the best HD Media Player" title thinking there will be an in-deapth review by Techtree team (which I always consider seriously), but his was just a high level feature by feature comparision ....Can tech tree team do a deep dive and then compare these players...Thanks

Seriously. There are some any so much better (and so very diverse) media drives out there these days. Hope techtree comes to our rescue in a better way.

Which model of LG DVD player are you using. I have a 1.5 T HDD connected to my LG DVD (DV 388) player and it works perfectly. It has to be FAT 32 formatted as you correctly said.

Initially went in for Iomega Director as it was for 10.5K with 1 TB inbuilt drive, after 5 hours of head banging and profanities returned it for WD TV Live plus 1 TB WD Ext. USB HDD 9.8+4.8=14.6K. WD plays everything beautifully 1080P, all my downloaded HD movies and documentaries finally in full HD glory!
