If you've been an avid reader of Techtree then you'll remember that we reviewed the Epson EMP-DM1 roughly around the same time last year. This little beauty was designed for home entertainment and came packed with a built-in DVD player, DivX support via a USB port and 3LCD technology for sharper, brighter pictures. This was all fine and dandy but there were a couple of shortcomings too. For instance, its native resolution was 4:3, which is not exactly ideal for movie watching.
It's been a year now and Epson seems to have made some minor modifications to the projector, which is now known as the EH-DM3. Featuring a very similar design to the older EMP-DM1, the native resolution has been bumped up slightly to 540p (compared to the older 480p), while the contrast gets a major boost at 2000 lumens and a contrast ratio of 3000:1. Other changes include a true wide lens with the option of 16:9 and 16:10 and an HDMI port for simplicity. The rest of the features are pretty much the same as the older model. Let's check out the bundle first.
Just for info: there are free utilities available that let you format larger HDDs in FAT32 format, so restriction of using such formatted pen drives or HDDs is not an issue, but just an inconvenience...
