    Kodak Z915

An average camera that's priced fairly low

Lightweight, sturdy design, 10x optical zoom, good placement of keys, fast performance, well priced

Small LCD display, noisy images, poor lowlight performance, focusing issues, horrible battery life

At the top is the camera mode selector beside the flash. The mode selector dial has a really nice tactile feel to it and rotates smoothly with a nice clicking sound. Similarly the shutter button too has a very nice click to it, unlike a certain soggy feel that some cameras have. Above the mode selector dial is the power button and the power indicator light, which also functions as the pointer for the mode selector dial.

The Z915 does not have an optical viewfinder, so you would have to rely on the rather small viewfinder display. The display quality is good though and is fairly visible under sunlight. Beside the display are the function controls. These keys are also very tactile and feel good to operate.

Hi Prasad, i think the use of Alkaline batteries in Digital cameras should be avoided. Even my Canon A640 which needs 4 AA's doesn't go beyond 40 shots on alkaline cells. After switching to Sanyo Enelops i have getting around 300 shots per charge. I don't feel it's correct to penalise this camera for horrible battery life. Check it out with the Enelope, i am sure you will change the verdict

Dude! Are you sure it takes up the battery in like only 50-60 shots. I mean even a 100 shots is too less. And CIPA states 280 shots (photos only). So I think it would be nice if you guys could follow the CIPA specification and find out the battery life that you are getting. That would be much appreciated man.

ordinary alkaline batteries really dont hold good power as they too have drain effect starting on the selfs itself. Also standard SANYO ENELOPE AA size branded batteries are supposedly widely popular to hold charge after even 300 shots on DSLR cameras. Good charger and branded rechargable batteries should help.

It would be good to know what sensor size these compact cameras have. The image resolution is more of a marketing gimmick. The image quality is what really matters. For majority picnic & party users this cam offers lot of features as a PS camera. For the rest DSLRs are the way to go.
