Loudspeakers weren't the best solution for individuals who wanted to listen to music, as they were bound to cause disturbance to people sitting around. Headphones fixed this issue, but the need for a much portable solution brought about the birth of earphones. Of late earphones have shrunk in size and have become tinier and have moved closer to the eardrums to provide an even better audio experience.

Known as the canal earphones or in-earphones, they sit in your ear canal and deliver music right into your ears. It still isn't so widely adopted, but steadily gaining acceptance since the time of its launch. So how much better or worse is it to the conventional earphones? Let's find out.

Yes i do agree that in-earnphones are good, but their are many chances that you might damage your eardrum while listening to loud music. So i always prefer normal earphone

u missed a point which is very important for ppl like my self.. i normally have my earphones always in my ears even during conversations... the problem is that if I use inyear headfones and turn down the volume u carnt hear a word ppl are saying so definately the ordinary earfones are a better choice for me

Noted prons & cons of both the earphones, I have both earphones & in-earphones. While on the move i.e. travelling I am using Creative EP-630 in-earphones. In-earphones provide mind/brain blowing experience of bass and highs. Where as earphones sound getting leaked and little bit disturbing others as well.

Ya I agree with the "Bottom Line"....as I too like in-earphones compared to earphones. I use to increase the volume of my PMP to like the second-last bar(8th out of 9th) to hear the music using earphones....and know I only raise it to 3rd and max 4th and can enjoy quality music using in-earphone. And in-earphones are also comfortable to my ears :)
