So you've bought yourself a shiny new iPod Touch or an iPhone, but you're already bored of it. This is a perfectly acceptable reaction because a blank iPhone/iPod Touch is not much fun until you load it up with apps. Apps come is various price ranges and while there are many free apps, not all of them are really useful. The good thing is that there are plenty of demo apps available, which is great, as you can try the software out and then if you like it, buy the full version.

But if you aren't too keen on spending and want some good freebies then we've made it very simple for you. Here's a list of some of the best free apps available on the iTunes Store. Most of these apps are available in the India app store but some are not, so it's best if you go to the US store. All these apps are downloadable through iTunes after which you just sync them to your iPhone/iPod Touch.

Cricket T20 Fever Lite

If you're a big fan of cricket, which I'm guessing most of you are, then you'll love this game. T20 Fever Lite is the free version of the game that we have already reviewed.

Paper Toss

Just as the name suggests, toss a paper ball into the trash can just as you would while sitting in office. However, it's not so easy though, as you'll have to counter wind from table fans making it more challenging. There are a couple of different locations like in an office, a basement and the airport lounge. Great fun to pass time.

Touch Hockey

You really can't beat a good game of air hockey and this free app from FlipSide5 Inc. brings it to you for free. There's also a Multiplayer mode where you can play with friends over Bluetooth and WiFi. Certainly a must-have for your touch device.

It would have been handy to add iTunes links to the apps. The 'Dragon Dictation' app doesn't exist in the iTunes app store! Fail!

What do you mean it doesn't exists. All I did was type "dragon" on the search bar and it was the first search result under the apps category.

That's because you weren't browsing the US App store. I did mention in the begining that its best to go to the US store as you'll be able to see all the Apps.

In addition to these, you should check out "Awesome Emoji" which enables picture-messaging on your iPhone/iPod. Pretty neat stuff. Great picks, by the way.

It would be nice if, after "selling" the app, if one was able to find it in the app store. e.g. Dictionary - Word Web.
