Putting it against the HD4670, it's almost of the same size with a very similar cooler. This is a single slot card that will easily fit into almost any cabinet an average user may have at home.
The reference card came with one DVI port, HDMI and DisplayPort. The actual retail card may carry the same connections or may choose to change them depending on the manufacturer.
The heatsink is just a small block of copper with a fan to cool the core and memory chips.
hmmm i dont why there is no mention of bit streaming audio support which makes this card a cut out diamond for HTPC small factor low power and nice audio support awesome HTPC card will buy once i get together some cash!!!
Hey i just bought this card its running cool , and is engh to play most games on high settings on my 19 " widescreen monitor totally worth the money ohh did i mention its pin drop silent , i will give it a cool 4/5
Ati 5670 FTW!!!!
hmmm one thing i find missing in this informative article is that the author has completely overlooked the fact that the performance of this card will improve overtime with future driver updates just like with the 4000 series as we all see there is a whole lot of potential in these new 5000 series cards.
Secondly i was appalled by the statement that there is no use of overclocking for a few fps , my dear friend these few 4-5 fps can be the difference in playing a game in a higher detail and all eye candy on and playing in low res or low settings which i personally don't like .
Also i would like to add on to the fact that any new card that is launched will have the WOW factor and a little extra margin but it also means longer life in terms for future upgrades[DX11 and improved stream support] so i would readily pay the extra amount .You also didnt account for eyefinity support in your verdict which is a little sad coz if this were a Nvidia card under review physx and cuda would have found their way into your verdict and how it will sway your recommendations . And please make your reviews a little time invariant in terms of pricing dont give out a 3.5/5 rating just because of its current price please note people will be reading this review maybe after a year why fool them :).
Just my 2 cents.!!!!
Poor card from ATi, 9800 GT will kick the heck out of HD 5670 @ 6k price range, except DX11(not a big deal), ok power consumption(comp to 9800/96 GT) and a passable temp! still the prices are pretty high!. Damn Nvidia! cards are still ruling and eagerly looking for FERMI'sss...
Performance of this card is limited due to the lower memory bandwith and only 8 raster operational unit or ROP as compared to 16 in 9600gt.no wonder ageing 9600gt still perform neck to neck with this newly launched card.forget about running direct x 11 games with this card
This card is slow in directx 10.1 itself, what makes it better in DX11 if the architecture is the same.
I dont even bother with these never ending die shrink releases from AMD.
Eagerly waiting for Fermi, but what use it may come if I buy a card of Rs20K if there are no titles to play!!!!
These consoles pack less power but have more games, you can count PC games on fingers for this year.
Consoles in india cost a heck a lot of money. especially if there are no service center's MICROSOFT yes are you listening?
