We waited and waited. And waited some more, but Apple took its own sweet time in bringing this one out. The talks of the company planning to release a tablet PC goes as far back as five years. We even wrote an article five years ago about what we thought the Apple tablet would look like. However, January 27 was the day Apple chose to finally showcase to the world their tablet computer. Possibly the most anticipated event in the history of anticipated events, it brought even the likes of Twitter down (which doesn't really take much), thanks to excited fans chatting enthusiastically and making predictions of how the device would be.

Now that the event is over, we finally know how the device is. So today we will try and understand what this device is all about, how it works, does it make you coffee while doing your laundry, everything; starting first with the name.

I'm commenting again to illustrate my point, I've got to justify my statement. All Prasad has done is that he has copied out the features and specifications of the iPad from the website. He has told me NOTHING that is not clearly stated on the Apple website. He's just been copying cool looking pics from the website, and he's written 6 pages which mean nothing. He hasn't discussed anything about the processor, which was designed by the fabless chip design firm PA Semi, acquired by Apple in 08...he hasn't said anything about why this is going to be a success, about why people will like it, neither has he said anything about Apple's market strategy. He's just written a measly 50-60 words on what he thinks, in a review of 6 pages. Any self respecting writer would write a lot more about what HE thinks about the product, and would condense the specs & other stuff quite a bit....he'd be better off writing 4th grade essays like "my visit to the zoo".. TechTree fire this clown...

In case you haven't noticed, the name of the article is 'Apple iPad at a glance'. The purpose of this article is to give the necessary information about this device in brief. It is not a review. We haven't used the device and as such, are in no position to comment on its performance. And as for copying stuff from the site, what else do you think is the source of information for us, if not the website? Sure, readers can just go to the website and read the specs there, but a novice user would prefer to read this article instead of just reading the cold numbers, which may or may not make much sense. Not everyone is a technology expert, such as yourself.

Another product from Apple only for their fanboys, comeon 1GHz has become mobile phone processors now, Why do you need a device inbetween a Netbook and a Smartphone, A smartphone does almost 80% of what a netbook does and apple launches a device "Eyepad" with 1Ghz processor, No flash support for web browser, no GPS, and you have to pay extra for the accessories with no 3G hardware, Hey wait next month Apple are going to come up with Ipad2 which has 3G, wi-fi HSDPA etc......, no camera that will feature in Ipad3 LOL....... So who really needs IPAD those who want to watch videos on the move, browse the web (if they dont access 'flash'y websites and want to multi touch zoom so that they can play around with their photos and show off. I would better get a Nokia N900 or Nexus one which outclasses IPAD in every aspect except for the screen Size............

Ah.... forget slates and tablets. I'd happily save myself 15k and pick up an iPod Touch 32GB. If I really needed a computer, a good netbook for another 15k would be added. Total? 30k only.
