Website server logs point to visits by Mac OS X 10.7 bearing Apple system
The highly anticipated Apple event is just two days away and we're getting several updates from all over the web. Recently, NDTV.com CTO Kawaljit Bedi posted a server log image stating that their site was visited by Apple system running Mac OS X 10.7 operating system. Bedi believes that it might be the Apple Tablet OS but in fact it is the Mac OSX 10.6.2 successor in the making.
The Mac system started visiting NDTV.com since January 21 and Mac OS X 10.7 was the operating system detected. We recently reported that Apple is preparing to release Mac OS X 10.6.3 beta build for select beta testers and developers. This could also be the Mac OS 10.7 in the making for future update and may not be the Tablet OS.
Assuming that Mac OS X 10.7 is the next operating system for Mac lineup, usually the Mac OS X upgrade takes place in a span of two years. Snow Leopard arrived on August 28, 2009, which was about two years after Leopard was released on Oct 26, 2007. However, it happened twice that there was less than a year gap between Puma (July 18, 2001), Jaguar (May 6, 2002) and Panther releases.
We certainly won't hear much about this at the Apple event, as the main focus is on the Apple Tablet. Let's wait and watch what comes off it.
