Sony Ericsson's much talked about Kurara has been finally made officially confirmed (in the sense that Sony Ericsson admits of it existence). Although it has not been officially announced as yet, Sony Ericsson has inadvertently said that the Kurara will be known as the Vivaz once launched.

While, Kurara was not exactly a name you'd fall for, it certainly sounded better than Vivaz. Nevertheless, what lies in a name? Let's see what the phone has to offer the user in terms of features. We have gone through this bit in detail earlier as well, since this is the official announcement (of sorts) of the Vivaz, no harm in taking a look at the specs again.

To start with, the phone runs a customized version of Series 60 FS60 5th Edition like on the Satio. It is smaller than the Satio in terms of the overall size and the screen size -- but has quite a few features that even big brother doesn't have. There's a perfectly adequate 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, image stabilization and face detection. This one also features HD video recording - making it the second Symbian phone after the Omnia HD to be capable of recording videos in HD.

The screen is a 3.2-inch WVGA one. For comparisons sake, the Satio has a 3.5-inch screen. The Vivaz will be available in four color options -- Moon Silver, Cosmic Black, Galaxy Blue, and Venus Ruby. Considering the problems Satio users faced, there's a big doubt on how the Vivaz will be received. But then, the Satio was a first for Sony Ericsson - is first ever Series 60 handset. Now that the company is a bit more experienced in this field, the Kurara might actually turn out to be a decent phone.

There has been no announcement of a launch date for the Vivaz, but we have a feeling that this one is just round the corner, waiting to be launched. The price would be somewhere around $670 (Rs 30,000 approx.) and $750 (Rs. 35,000 approx.) mark, we hear.

SE should have given 30fps HD video recording instead of 24fps

You are right about the Symbian part. But the P910 was an UIQ (UIQ can be called a variant of Symbian, S60 is different )based phone. Before the P910 there was the P900 and the P800 as well. So even the P910 wasnt the first "Symbiab" phone from Sony Ericsson. On the other hand the Satio IS the first Symbian S60 phone. There's a small difference! ;)
