But only in China as of now..

We have been talking about the Lenovo Lephone for quite some time now. It was first seen at the CES after which official images of the phone surfaced. Now it seems Lenovo has announced the phone and would be made available to consumers.

Before you get ready to buy this one, note that as of now, Lenovo is only interested in getting this in to the Chinese market. Apart from its Ophone that we saw in 2009, this would be the second Android based devic from the company.

The Lenovo Lephone boasts of a 3.7-inch 480 800-pixel resolution display, a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.5mm headset jack, 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, a 3.0-megapixel video-capable camera, customized Google Android, and a Proprietary 9-pin dock connector for external keyboard.

If you happen to understand Chinese, head over here for more on the phone -- including a video.

Lenovo wants to launch this beast of a phone in China! Good move but they should think bigger! This phone is beautiful! It's different, at least in aesthetic design. There's very little one can do these days to shatter the glass ceiling on mobile phone technology but there are little thing you can do to make a product more palatable to consumers like the Ovoid shaped phone, the circular shaped keyboard which happens to be a keyboard that is detachable. WOW, ain't that something? they've actually integrated the ideapad hybrid tech into the lephone. Nice thinking but they need to think bigger. They need to find mobile providers in the US as well as Europe that will peddle it for them on lucrative contracts. Regardless, if the specs are right ie good memory size, relatively good battery life, good browser with flash capability, then i'll toss my iPhone and get this one. for me, it has the X-Factor
