The name might sound French; but Lenovo's latest smartphone, the Lephone, is as Chinese as it could get. The Android based smartphone
announced by Lenovo has impressed onlookers with its specs and looks.

The Ovoid looking phone features a Snapdragon processor and boasts of a 3.7 inch screen like that of the Nexus One. The resolution of this screen is the same as that of the Nexus One 480*800. It runs a heavily customized version of Android and is WCDMA ready. It is well equipped on the connectivity front and is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS enabled. There are two cameras one for video calling and the main one at the rear for general imaging. The main camera is only a 3-megapixel unit though. There is a 3.5mm jack provided as well. As of now, we do not have further details about this one. One thing we almost missed mentioning is about the gesture control touch area beneath the screen. There are no physical buttons on the front fascia of the Lephone.
The phone will go on sale first in China by the end of the first quarter of 2010
