Volkswagen has finally launched its much awaited Polo hatchback in India at the Auto Expo 2010 in new Delhi. The Polo will have the option of two power plants, one petrol and the other diesel. The petrol will be a 1.2L engine capable of developing 75 bhp at 5,400 rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 3,750 rpm. The diesel will also be a 1.2L engine and will develop 75 bhp of power at 4,200 rpm and 180 Nm of torque at a fairly low 2,000 rpm. Both engines will come with a 5 -Speed gearbox.


Pricing isn't revealed yet but it would be on par with cars like the Skoda Fabia and the Hyundai i20, which will be Polo's main rivals. The Polo will be available in three variants: Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. The car is will be available at your nearest Volkswagen dealer by March.
