As the Consumer Electronics Show 2010 is coming closer, Nvidia beams with its Optimus technology that will bring high graphics performance and low power consumption for the mobile platform. This technology will be introduced for mobile platform in the first quarter of this year. Rene Haas, vice president for worldwide sales, Nvidia, stated on the nTersect Nvidia blog that more information about Optimus would be revealed next month.

Nvidia Optimus technology is touted to be 'seamless and transparent to the user.' The chief purpose of Optimus technology is to get best performance off the discrete graphics and also deliver greater battery life. Consumers do look for high performance offering graphics equipped notebooks that provide good battery life. Hence, it's becoming necessary to reduce power consumption and optimize graphics performance for the mobile platform.

As of now,we have no clue whether Nvidia will introduce a new family of mobile graphics or will introduce a custom software/platform. If it's software/platform, it may be usable to manage and manipulate graphics performance without compromising on the battery life.

hey are they like completely kicked out in desktop business!!! It is where the graphics matter.. the resolution of these mini displays on so called mobile platforms can be easily managed by any stripped down of 9800gt and at 32nm fabrication they might even consume less power.. seriously what are their NVIDIA's new resolution!!!! Shouldn't they be well concentrating on DX11 based GT300 graphic cards? Their attitude was like the DX11 is nothing but a DX10.11 and I think 10.11 will be the month and year they release it.
