2009 wasn't the most exciting year for PC gaming. Yes, we did have some big titles launching on schedule like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Dirt 2 and Dragon Age: Origins, but all the major sequels that were promised in Q4 of 2009 were pushed to 2010.
This means we have a huge backlog in the first quarter along with the rest of the major titles slated for 2010. So if you were saving up for an upgrade then 2010 is the year to splurge. We are also going to have many DX11 titles launching, which will coincide with Nvidia's entry into DX11, i.e if they ever actually release their top secret project. So without wasting any more time let's check out some of the most awaited games that are to arrive in the new decade.
Mass Effect 2 Release Date: January 26
BioWare's hottest selling PC game is due for a sequel, and it is bound to be the first big launch that will take place around January 26 in America and January 29 in Europe. This action role-playing game is supposed to be bigger and better than the first one with many of the bugs fixed and an overall improved gameplay. The characters in ME:2 will be a lot more detailed not only graphically but technically as well. For instance, Commander Shepherd had only 20 animations for cover, while in the sequel he'll have over 200. Other improvements include a more open-ended gameplay, better camera positioning during conversations, 19 different weapons (as opposed to just four) and many more.
Last year at E3 we got to see a live demo of the gameplay and the new lighting effects.
