Both side panels of the case are held in place with the help of thumb screws which surprisingly, are also powder coated so they don't rust over time. Impressive! So far, I m really liking the little attention to detail by Lian-Li. Let's see what we can expect inside.
Sliding open the door, we come across a full black powder coated interior which is heaven for every geek who stay's up late worrying about rust creeping into his precious cabinet. Not only will this prolong the life, it also looks really good especially when you have a side window. The interiors look very spacious and according to Lian-Li, this case will easily accommodate a 290mm long graphics card so a HD5870 or a GTX285 should be fine but you may run into problems with a HD5970.
Starting from the front, there's place for five optical drives, out of which only two have a plastic latch where as the other two will require screws. However, if you think about it, we only use a single DVD drive or two at the most so we still aren't using screws so far.
We've seen many tool less designs from CoolerMaster and the lot and this one is no different either. Instead of plastic pull out trays, we have steel ones with a very clever locking system. All you have to do is loosen the screw and slide the latch upwards. This way, you unlock all the drive slots at ones and then you can simply slide them out. Once again there is heavy use of rubber padding everywhere to reduce vibrations.
