Get ready folks! The Sony Ericsson U5i is coming soon! But wait, what is the U5i? Well, no one knows as of now. So, while we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Xperia X10 and the Kurara, here's one more slick sounding handset name leak. The U5i has appeared in an FCC document which has been duly leaked by the usual suspects. The handset has apparently cleared to be on sale in U.S. When? Well that too is yet to be known. The noticeable thing about the U5i is the naming convention. The "i" suffix is kind of going back to its original naming scheme where Sony Ericsson devices were a K700i, an S700i and a P900i. Remember? However, there has never been an official U series from Sony Ericsson. What we can currently point towards, as possibilities are the fact that the Satio was known as the U1 internally and the Aino was U10. So, looking in to the history of the U devices, both seem to be touchscreen based. With the Kurara too almost ready for sale and that phone been referred to as U5 in the past, is what we re looking at an Americanised Kurara? Well, as mentioned earlier, no one knows. Give us a nice lil surprise this time, Sony Ericsson!
I completely agree. I had very poor customer service from Sony Ericson. They basically told me to get knotted when I complained that my $1100 phone was falling apart after only 12 months. I will never buy another from them. Ever.
