The size is very similar to the Logitech MX518 but minus the hump on the top. Your palm can rest quite comfortably on the surface instead of blending with the mouse. The palm rest surface has a nice carbon black finish that will easily hide the dust and grime of everyday use.
The texture on the sides is a bit different and has a rubberized texture for better grip.
Shortcut Buttons:
The 2m long cord gives you the plenty of freedom and it is very durable too since it is braided. The scroll wheel has a good grip as well but doesn't feature the 'free scrolling' function. Just above the wheel, we have the CPI toggle button that can switch between two modes, both of which can be set by the user.
The LCD screen on the bottom is not just for show. You can actually switch between various profiles and even customize the CPI, Cursor Speed and other Steel Series features on the fly in the middle of gaming. This is where the XAI trumps some of the best gaming mice currently available. The inclusion of Hardware profiles means you're no longer bound to the software for configuring your mouse, you can plug it into any machine (Mac included) and still retain all your settings. How cool is that!
For extra fluidity, we have three large Teflon feet which help the XAI glide effortlessly on almost any surface. Of course, for best results, you should ideally use a good gaming grade mouse pad that's designed for laser mice.
