In what seems to be an undergoing attack, the popular social networking website Twitter has been "hacked" by a group claiming to be the "Iranian Cyber Army". The same group seems to hacked into another website http://www.mowjcamp.org/ and has posted the same message, as reported by TechCrunch.
The message, (which apparently is in Arabic) read, "Iranian Cyber Army THIS SITE HAS BEEN HACKED BY IRANIAN CYBER ARMY iRANiAN.CYBER.ARMY@GMAIL.COM
U.S.A. Think They Controlling And Managing Internet By Their Access, But THey Don't, We Control And Manage Internet By Our Power, So Do Not Try To Stimulation Iranian Peoples To .
NOW WHICH COUNTRY IN EMBARGO LIST? IRAN? USA? WE PUSH THEM IN EMBARGO LIST Take Care."
Twitter was facing issues through all of yesterday but we thought the issue could have been a technical error that Twitter users have been so used to. However, this time round, the issue seemed more serious when the Twitter blog too went down along with the main site. The twitter search page, however, is still around. As of now, there is no idea as to what the extent of the "damage" is. We're keeping a tab on this. Twitter always had suspect security practices in place and the latest attack is just another addition to the number of issues the hugely popular site has been facing over the past months.
As a precaution, once Twitter is back up, it would be a good idea to change passwords of your accounts that share the same password as Twitter. As of now, Twitter is back up and functional.
