Beejive, the IM client for BlackBerry devices, has just received an update to version 2.0 with support for almost all IM networks out there. Facebook Chat, GoogleTalk, AIM/iChat/MobileMe, MSN/Windows Live, Yahoo!, MySpace, ICQ, and Jabber are all supported in the new version.
Apart from this, the IM Client also features Twitter integration and voice notes wherein users can record a quick voice note and send voice messages to IM contacts in the list. The IM is also location aware with GPS integration with link to Google Maps. In simpler terms, you can share your location details with your IM contacts real-time using this. The file transfer option has been enhanced with reviewing and previewing of attachments. The application also supports Group Chatting - albeit only for selected IM networks - currently on AIM, Yahoo, MSN and Jabber. A much welcome push notification too finds its way in that notifies the user of an IM "ping".
The UI of the application gets a few customization options with the user getting to choose the color and layout of the buddy lists, chat layouts and the overall look. For those awaiting clickable links inside an IM message, this version brings that feature as well! The application costs $9.95 for a single device license and $14.95 for a user license. The software is available for a 30-day free trial period and the aforementioned price is a discounted rate valid only till the end of this month. Head here!
