After its initial arrival on the Vodafone network last month, HTC's Android based Tattoo has arrived in its unlocked form in India. The Tattoo might just be the cheapest way to go Android considering the price bracket HTC has launched the device. A "scaled down" version of the HTC Magic, it features a 2.8-inch screen with 240x320 QVGA resolution, a Qualcomm MSM7225 processor running at 528 MHz, and 256MB of RAM. The Tattoo also boasts of a 3.5mm audio jack that is strangely absent on the much more expensive Magic. The Tattoo also comes with HTC's Sense UI and social networking oriented applications - including an inbuilt Twitter client. Apparently, the phone does not support 3G and is a Quad Band GSM phone.
Being an Android device, the phone comes integrated with Google Search, Google Mail, and Android market where users can download applications. On the imaging front too, the Tattoo doesn't appear to be much behind the Magic. The phone comes with a decent 3.2 megapixel camera and expandable microSD memory. The HTC Tattoo has been priced at Rs. 16,990 in India.
Am I correct in assuming that this phone has no 3G or Wi Fi support?I'm shifting my loyalty to HTC from SE and I don't want to be left disappointed after I go for it!
This phone is not "scaled down" version of Magic but its bit higher than that. Its configuration is same as Hero, only size and shape is smaller. It does have wi-fi, email support, chat, gps, camcorder, camera. 3g depends on career frequency, so check it better. I am using this phone for about 3 weeks its very good for the price.
