4. Leisure Suit Larry 8: Lust In Space
Now, PC games are not just for going on a killing rampage or driving cars, some are meant to give you pleasure by the hidden overtures that are very much in line with the famous Carry On film franchise. The name Leisure Suit Larry does evoke such feelings. Sierra made seven of these games and embarked on making the eighth installment - Leisure Suit Larry 8: Lust In Space (or Explores Uranus) - in full 3D because it was 1998 and that was the dawn of the 3D gaming scene as far as PC gaming was concerned.
According to Al Lowe, game designer and creator of Leisure Suit Larry, Sierra suddenly decided that it did not want to make a Larry 8 due to budget constraints. On February 22, 1999, the adventure games department was disbanded and Al Lowe left the company for good. The game was thus cancelled. You can still get a glimpse of just about 21 minutes of what the game was meant to look like by downloading a pre-rendered clip available at http://www.allowe.com/Larry/8.htm.
