Refreshed, Redesigned Ovi Store Coming

Nokia doesn t seem to be too happy with the way things are going with its Ovi Store. The company s delayed answer to the Apple App Store boasts of a million downloads per day and it boasts of 80 million active users as well.

Impressive numbers all. However these numbers pale in comparison to that of the Apple App Store and  Nokia wants to change things. So, Nokia is readying a revamped version of the Ovi store by mid 2010 which would coincide with the launch of the first Symbian^3 based devices start trickling in .

The Ovi Store has been in existence for almost seven months now even Nokia officials admit that it lags behind the App Store in terms of reliability and stability.The new version as mentioned earlier, will offer a redesigned interface and newer features like in-application payments, recommendations and focus on localised content. It remains to be seen if a redesign would be enough to make the Ovi Store a worthy Apple App Store challenger.
