Apparently, Foxconn has received orders from Apple to make the device
Time for yet another iPhone related rumor. Remember Foxconn? It is the company that ACTUALLY makes the iPhone. Yes, the same Foxconn that made headlines when one of its Chinese employees committed suicide following accusations of stealing an Apple iPhone prototype.
So, Foxconn has apparently received an order from Apple to manufacture the fourth generation iPhone - already. The news about the next gen iPhone being already in the works was revealed yet by none other than Mobile Review's Eldar Murtazin. Eldar is the man to get in touch with if you need any insider information on mobile phones product launches and leaks. A major difference this time was that this revelation came in the form of a small 140-character tweet.
Now, assuming Foxconn begins making the iPhone now, the launch date of the new device should roughly be at around mid 2010 -- the same time as the 3GS was announced back in mid-2009. There is no word as to what new would the next generation iPhone come with! Will it be a major overhaul from the current versions in both, the software and the hardware departments? Well, we'd have to wait for all these info to be er, leaked!
