Finally, some concrete evidence of the much rumored Apple Tablet has surfaced. Apple has acquired the TabletMac trademark from Axiotron, a MacBook to Tablet modding company, as  reported by MacRumors. Why Apple got the trademark for the purpose is obvious - to dive in to Tablet Mac business.

Axiotron has been modding MacBook and MacBook Pro models to tablet devices since a while and had been promoting them as ModBook or Tablet Mac solution. But now, the trademark of the word TabletMac has been transferred to Apple from Axiotron. Besides fueling the rumor about Tablet Mac in anvil, it's also possible that Apple acquired the trademark to avoid confusion.

Lately, it is being speculated that Apple's tablet will release next year and will run iPhone OS variation. Nothing has come off the "iProd1,1" device identifier indicated in iPhone OS 3.1 update which was heavily rumored to be media tablet. We aren't sure whether Apple will release TabletMac dubbed product, but several instances state that a Tablet Mac should arrive sometime next year.

Axiotron may continue selling its ModBooks and ModBook Pros albeit it can't market it as TabletMac anymore.
