Office 2010 RTM may be available a month earlier, in May
After recently announcing the Office 2010 public beta, Microsoft is reportedly prepping the final release of their productivity suite in June next year. The Microsoft Office 2010 productivity suite will be available in six editions for Windows 7, Vista and XP in both 32-bit and 64-bit editions, stated Neowin. There's no official word from Microsoft on this update and no information on pricing either.
Microsoft will release Office 2010 in six editions - Starter, Home and Student, Home and Business, Standard, Professional, and Professional Plus. Currently the Office 2010 Professional Plus is available as public beta, which expires on October 31, 2010. Basically, one gets over a year to check out the Office 2010 suit and then decide whether to buy it.
Since the retail store date is being said as June, the Release to Manufacture version will be available to TechNet and MSDN subscribers in May.
Following applications are included in the Office 2010 suite:
Access 2010
Excel 2010
InfoPath Designer 2010
InfoPath Filler 2010
OneNote 2010
Outlook 2010
PowerPoint 2010
Publisher 2010
SharePoint Workspace 2010
Word 2010
Office Communicator 2010
The other two products available separately are: Microsoft Visio 2010 and Project 2010. It's better to try out the free Public Beta of Office 2010 and then go for the flavor that suits your needs.
